Career Counseling

As part of our class, we were obligated to take several assessments that we might potentially be given clients. Tonight we got our results. Here are my top 10 recommended careers:

1. Technical Support Specialist
2. Computer Systems Analyst
3. Geographer
4. Computer Scientist
5. Network Administrator
6. Software Developer
7. Engineer
8. Mathematician
9. Mathematics Teacher
10. Engineering Technician

Let's see. . . nowhere on that list is there anything even moderately related to the helping profession. Less than two months until graduation. . . this does not inspire confidence.

At least it did hit the nail on the head for careers I'm not interested in:
Realtor
Art Teacher
English Teacher
Athletic Trainer
Interior Designer

I may be wrong, but I would say that "1. Technical Support Specialist" would theoretically have a lot to do with helping people.

Is a technical support specialist someone who works as a "help desk"? Wait I see that Lisa is saying the same thing... You must really like computers?

How goes the job search? And how was Vegas? I was hoping for a spicy post.
