Day two

Feeling much better after having gotten some sleep, my second day here has been a fabulous journey into the coffee and culinary delights of Sarajevo, both of which I have enjoyed. Nette, you would be happy to know that pizza margherita is as big here as it ever was in Germany. More to the point, I am happy to know that. I also think I have spent over three hours just sitting at cafes and drinking coffee. It seems to be the national pastime here, which I am way more excited to partake in than baseball.

I was looking over your mom's shoulder as she read your blog on my office computer. Hopefully they'll get their computer back soon. In the meantime I'll let them use this, and I've saved your blog in my "favorites" so I can keep up with what you're doing. Hope it's a great summer!

Hey, here's a culinary suggestion for you: my Uncle Bob's family comes from Serbia (not where you are, I know, but it's close) and every year Bob goes to the Serbian church in KC for their fall bake sale. He always brings back boxes and boxes of apple strudel. It's made with filo dough instead of regular puff pastry, and he says it's how they made it in the old country. See if you can find anything like that. It will be very worth it, I promise.

Sounds like you're having a good time, drink some good coffee for me.

love you,
shorthill
